Open Source Animation

Yesterday I ran across this short animated video that was made with Blender, an open source application for Linux, Macs and Windows. I installed Blender on my computer a long time ago and played around with it a little. It’s really cool for making 3-D objects, but I never tried animation. It’s pretty complicated to use, so I never took the time to follow any tutorials to learn what can be done with it. Well, this movie called ‘Sintel’ is a really beautiful and amazing example of what Blender is capable of. It’s only fifteen minutes long, so take a look:
