Calvin and Hobbes

Last night when Arthur went to bed he wanted to read some Calvin and Hobbes to me. A couple of years ago (or maybe more?) I found some Calvin and Hobbes books at the used book store in Spencerport and brought them home for him. He loved them! I since have spent many hours reading them to my son and laughing hysterically with him before bedtime.

So last night it was so amazing to have my boy reading the same comics to me that I’d read to him in years gone by, as well as some I’d never seen from a new collection I recently bought. And I found myself looking at him as he gleefully read and laughed; really looking at him, and seeing how much more mature he appears, and how much of myself and his mother I see in that face, that voice/mouth/eyes. It really blew my socks off! My little boy is growing up…

Meanwhile as I write this, upstairs I hear Fiona dancing away in her room with her dance outfit and ballet shoes on, music blaring from her CD player.

My, how time flies!!
